Charles Forman Presented with the NJBLF Lifetime Achievement Award

We’re proud to share that our Managing Member, Charles Forman, was presented with the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award at its 2025 Evening of Celebration Gala.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a professional whose many years of service to the bankruptcy community has demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism, leadership and integrity.
Charlie’s impact has been felt not only as an attorney and as Managing Member at Forman Holt and at its predecessor law firms, where he has served as an attorney representing Trustees, Debtors and Creditors, but also his leadership of the NJBLF where he has served as President and Board Member for more than a decade. His tireless dedication both to the practice and to the people who have been impacted by his work as an attorney and as a leader within the NJBLF have left a lasting mark on numerous people whom he has helped to address their unfortunate circumstances either as participants in the bankruptcy system or in connection with his work with the NJBLF.
In addition to representatives from the Foundation, the selection process involved participants from iWIRC, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the NJTMA and the Association of the Federal Bar.
Charlie has served as Trustee for tens of thousands of insolvency proceedings including, companies with such household names as Linens ‘n Things, Work Bench Furniture, The Russ Companies, Inc. (“Troll Dolls”), Upsala College and Spiniello Construction Company. He has been called upon to unravel cases involving major frauds, for example, NJ Affordable Homes which involved 500 parcels of real estate in New Jersey and which had an impact on creditors of approximately $100 million. In addition, he has served in numerous cases in the State Courts as a Special Fiscal Agent, including matters where he directed the turnaround of those enterprises, their restructuring and their continued operation.
He has had the opportunity to participate in numerous cases where his two engineering degrees provided insights into debtors’ operations and significant aspects of debtors’ financial difficulties. Those cases have included a wide variety of areas including telecommunications, biopharma, manufacturing, the dismantling of industrial and chemical plants and environmental clean-ups and remediations.
In addition to his work in the insolvency field Charlie is a Board Member for the Foundation at NJIT and was twice-elected President of it’s Alumni Association. As an undergraduate he was Student Government President and the youngest Editor-in-Chief of a college weekly in the country and Chapter President of his Fraternity.
He currently serves as President of the New Jersey Chapter of the International Network of Boutique Law Firms and as a Program Coordinator with the Greater New York Mensa organization.
During the course of his career he has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the New Jersey Law Journal, an Outstanding Achievement Award for Exceptional Achievements in Career, Public Service and Volunteer Activities by NJIT and an Outstanding Alumnus Award by NJIT. He is the only Chapter 7 Panel Trustee who has been recognized by the United States Department of Justice through it’s Executive Office of the United States Trustee for significant contributions to that field by being awarded the Director’s Award for Outstanding Achievements by a Private Trustee.
